Weather Testing

The Bereco Contemporary Spiral Balance Sliding Sash design was tested to BS6375, undertaken by independent accreditation body BM Trada achieving outstanding results for air tightness, water tightness and wind resistance. Achieving the highest classification achievable with a UK Exposure Category of 2000, 600pa (class 3) for Air permeability, 250pa water tightness and 0.8 air leakage.

Period features to enhance the external appearance of the modern sliding sash window include horns to the top sash as standard and optional arched head packers to create a gothic style effect often found on period buildings and traditional barns.

Inline balances, concealing the spiral balance operation are incorporated into the Contemporary Sliding Sash Spiral Balance Window design as standard. The balances are adjustable and available in four colour options; white, brown, cream and black.

Sash locks and strike plates are fitted to enable the restriction of the opening sash, protecting the timber and creating a child friendly environment.

The 24mm glazing unit, proven to be the optimal thickness for thermal efficiency ensures a high performance, air tight window with the character and charm of an original sliding sash window.

The Elegant Choice – The Contemporary Sliding Sash Cords & Weights window is a vertical sliding sash, incorporating a traditional pulleys and weights lifting system. The Cords & Weights design utilises a heavy weight nylon cord on self-lubricating wheels to operate the window.

The Contemporary Sliding Sash window is primarily used in new build, modern properties where build circumstances dictate or when conservation requirements are a consideration.
