Finishes

Bygone Sash Windows are finished in White as standard but can be provided in any RAL colour and a variety of stained finishes. All Timbers responsibly sourced and treated to prevent fungal deterioration.

Energy Savings Recommended

We are proud to announce that our conventional spring balanced wooden sash windows are now BFRC B rated as standard, Traditional Weights and Pulleys versions are C rated as standard and both are Energy Savings Recommended by the Energy Savings Trust.

Staff Bead Frame Detail

Bygone Sash Windows have a staff bead detail inside and out of the frame to recreate the traditional appearance.

Putty Line & Ovolo Sashes

Bygone Collection Windows are provided with putty line sashes externally and ovolo beading internally to recreate the original timber features.

Deep Bottom Rails

The lower sash of each window is comprised of a deeper bottom rail to give traditional detailing.

Continuous Horn Detail

Bygone have developed integrated horns to the underside of the top sash, vital to achieving a traditional appearance.

Georgian Bars

Surface mounted putty line /ovolo Georgian bars to mimic most designs.

Bespoke Acorn Design Furniture

Branded locking cam catches available in Antique Brass effect, Pewter or Chrome with scroll handles and pole eyes to match. Fully suited pulley wheel covers and tilt latch covers where applicable.

Bespoke Limit Stops

A pair of branded Limit Stops available in Antique brass effect, Chrome or Pewter.

Easy Clean Tilt Facility

Tilt restrictors fitted to all sashes* for easy clean facility. Operated using bespoke acorn design tilt release knobs in fully suited finishes to match window furniture.

Torso Balances

Pre Tensioned Spring balances are the operating centre of wooden sash windows, secured in place by our patented Balance Retaining Clips*.

Manufacturing Standards

All Bygone Collection Wooden Sash Windows are manufactured in a state of the art factory to exacting standards whilst being assembled and finished by craftsmen to British Standard 644.

Engineered Timber

Unlike many other timber window companies Bygone Collection Wooden Sash Windows are manufactured from 100% FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) ‘Chain of Custody’ European Redwood giving the consumer peace of mind with regards to sustainability.

All of our timber profiles are made from high performance laminated timber to ensure strength and consistency as well as the long term durability that comes from a fully engineered product.

All joints are glued and pinned with corrugated fasteners.

Preservation

Bygone Collection Wooden Sash Windows offer customers a superior range of windows which have significant environmental and durability advantages over traditional vacuum impregnated joinery products.

All timber is Boron Wood Preservative treated which unlike vacuum impregnation is not classified as an environmental hazard as it is naturally occurring and does not bio-accumulate. This treatment provides a 30 year guarantee against rot and fungal attack assuming maintenance and care advice is followed.

Paint Finish & Durability

Due to the Bygone Collections high environmental values, Bygone Collection Wooden Sash Windows are painted using factory applied high performance microporous water based coatings that are guaranteed for 10 years. We are also able to offer stained finishes backed by a 5-year guarantee.

Glass & Glazing

The sealed units are manufactured to EN1279 and carry a 5 year guarantee. The sealed units have a clear 5mm between its edge and the timber of the sash. The glazing shall be 4mm Low Iron: 16mm Argon gas, Thermix spacer bars: 4mm Soft coat Low E en.040.

Beading

Internally beaded to maximize security in Bygone Collection Wooden Sash Windows we offer a ‘puttyline’ effect to the exterior and an attractive ovolo internally.

Cill Options

To match the distinct requirements of your property Bygone Collection Wooden Sash Windows offer flush, standard, sub and extended cill options.
